Our commitment

We believe every patient and prospective patient should be able to access the information on our website. We aim to conform to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, the international standard for web accessibility. We review our site regularly and make improvements as we learn of new ways to improve the experience for all users.

What we've done

Our website has been designed and built with accessibility in mind:

  • Keyboard navigation. The entire site can be navigated using only a keyboard, with visible focus indicators showing which element is active.
  • Screen reader compatibility. We use semantic HTML (proper headings, landmarks, and lists) and ARIA labels where needed so screen readers can accurately announce content.
  • Color contrast. Body text meets or exceeds WCAG AA contrast ratios against background colors.
  • Skip-to-content link. Users can skip past repetitive navigation and jump directly to main content.
  • Text resizing. Content remains readable and functional when text size is increased up to 200 percent.
  • Alternative text. Meaningful images include descriptive alt text; decorative images are appropriately hidden from assistive technology.
  • Form labels. All form fields are clearly labeled and associated with their inputs.
  • Reduced motion. We respect the browser's reduced motion preference and minimize animation when requested.
  • Descriptive link text. We avoid vague links like "click here" and use text that describes the destination.

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not be fully accessible:

  • Google Maps embed. The map on our Contact page is embedded from Google Maps and inherits Google's accessibility features and limitations. The full address and directions link are available as text alternatives.
  • Third-party content. External services we link to (Google Business Profile, Web3Forms) are governed by their own accessibility standards.

If you encounter any other accessibility barriers, please let us know so we can address them.

Ongoing improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As we add new content and features, we test them for accessibility and make improvements as we learn. If we fall short, we want to hear about it.
